There Will Be Knitting

Living near San Francisco, it's hard not to get excited about the upcoming Super Bowl game with the San Francisco Forty Niners playing the Baltimore Ravens.  Everybody is wearing 49er's shirts or some article of clothing that is red.  We are ready to do our part - red shirts and sweaters and lots of avocados, taco chips, beer and Margaritas.  Of course, there will be knitting.  Here is my progress on my two current projects:

Finished the back of my husband's sweater and plan to work on the front during the game.  There is some detail on the front,  but I think I can handle it during the game.  May have to put it on hold during the commercials, however.

Today is February 1st, the start of the Kardigan KAL and the project I chose, Meris, starts off with a bang.  You knit the left and right back shoulders separately, on size 3 needles (outside of socks, I never venture into this territory) with lots of short rows thrown in for the shaping.  Then you join them to work on the neck. I think it's safe to say I won't be working on this on Sunday afternoon!

Happy Fiber Arts Friday and Go Niners!  Go Colin!

  1. i really love this sweater you are knitting for your husband---may have to be my next hubbie knit, too

We're die -hard Steeler fans (not much to cheer about this year!).....so I guess we'll root for the 49-ers!!

  2. I'm excited to see how that cardigan goes. But don't blame you at all for not working on that on Sunday. Good Luck to your team.

I'm intrigued about your work with the Hand Surgeon.

  3. That sweater is going to be great. I love cardi's. Have fun watching the game...I have no vested interest this year so commercials and half-time will draw me in.

  4. I guess condolences are in order for your 49ers, but at least that half hour power outage gave you more knitting time, right? That cardigan pattern looks pretty.
