My Ruffled Scarf and On to Something New

Finished my Ruffled and Ruched Scarf by Pam Powers  and I'm pleased with how it turned out:

Pam knit hers in Malabrigo worsted but I did this in Cascade 220 Heathers.  This was an easy project and I think it would make great gift knitting.

Here's a few more pictures as I went along:

God Bless Downton Abbey; I am getting alot of knitting done!  Here are the socks I have been knitting for my husband for what seems like forever:

These are made with Austermann Step, the yarn with Aloe Vera.  Very warm and soft!

My next project is a sweater for my husband, and after hours looking at patterns for men, I found one that I think he will really like.  It's called Jon's Sweater by Sarah Wilson  from the Interweave Fall 2012 issue.  It's a pretty plain sweater, just the way most men like it, however, the front has an interesting design:

I'm using yarn from my stash that I have been holding on to for the perfect project for him.  It's Filatura  Di Crosa's Adhoc:

Happy Fiber Arts Friday and enjoy your weekend!

  1. Ohh, that scarf is great! I love the flower. :) I think that sweater will be great, too. And who doesn't love handknit socks? You've been very busy!

  2. Love that scarf! And the flower is much nicer than some of the gathered ones I have seen. The sweater for your husband will be gorgeous in that yarn. Lucky him. My husband doesn't wear sweaters so I get to knit all for myself.

  3. The scarf is awesome!

    Have a great weekend!

  4. That's a neat sweater pattern, much less boring than most others I've seen. My husband just asked for a hat, "plain blue with a little white".

  5. Downton Abbey is PERFECT for watching and knitting--it cries out for it! Love the ruffle, pretty color too. Nice man sweater, I do like the detail on the front.

  6. I love Downton Abbey too, Mom. Can't wait for Sunday nights! FREE BATES!

  7. Those socks turned out great! I'll have to be on the lookout for a ball of that yarn. I know several people that would be worthy of that scarf. Your purple one is beautiful. Agreeing about being thankful for Downton Abbey...I keep hearing their way of speaking in my head. I do hope Mr. Bates gets out soon but I think they'll just throw some other tragedy at him and his poor wife if he gets out.
